November 1, 2014 Group 1 Victoria Derby
In his first Group 1 win, Preferment won in a brave, heart throbbing fashion that would be prophetic of his races to come. Breaking well and settling midfield, Preferment made his move six wide turning for home and waited patiently until engaging the leader and stealing the race in the final strides. A bold entrance into Group 1 company.
October 4, 2015 - Group 1 Turnbull Stakes
Swallowed by a quick pace, Preferment had to take up running in the back of the pack. Handling it like a complete professional, Preferment was forced to make a bold move and come five wide to make a run. Passing 300 metres, Preferment displayed his turn of foot that could not be reproduced by his competitors.
March 12, 2016 - Group 1 Australian Cup
Preferment had to do it the hard way in this Group 1 but like a true champion, he found what it took to win. Traveling three wide through the beginning parts of the race, Preferment had to work to get a good position stalking the leader. Turning for home, there was a wall of horses that challenged for the lead, but it was Preferment and Awesome Rock that battled it to the wire. With 50 metres to go, Awesome Rock came into the line of Preferment, taking his running room and the stewards awarded Preferment his rightful victory.
March 26, 2016 - Group 1 BMW Stakes
In his latest Group 1 win, Preferment again showed his dominance and brilliant speed. Traveling in the back of the pack for most of the race, jockey Hugh Bowman knew the ability Preferment had and shot him to the lead at 600 metres. He was soon followed by the field, but it was too late as Preferment showed his ability to maintain a high level of speed for the entire stretch run.
