Preferment is a very strong and attractive type and has been an absolute pleasure to train. He is a very clean winded horse and in this modern day I see it as a very welcome attribute to any horses joining the stallion ranks.
This horse is the perfect horse to continue on the Zabeel sire line and surely our memories go back far enough to realise how dominant he was a a younger stallion. With such a significant amount of prize money being injected into staying races as well as the Saturday racing in general that we have 52 weeks of the year, it makes sense to breed to a horse like Preferment who you know will leave progeny competitive in so many of these races, especially our Oaks, Derbys and Cups races of the future.
With the majority of breeding focused on speed, this horse would have very little competition at the major yearling sales and would prove a good investment to breed too. I, like many trainers, will be chasing the progeny of Preferment in the years ahead.
