Show the World - AJC Derby Prospect
03 Jan 2014

Show the World (High Chaparral ex Bazelle) was our 2012 Pin up horse!  From the day that he was born he was a stunning individual and he always demanded attention whenever you went in to the paddock.

Show the World as a newborn foal - Brighthill Farm

He was one of the last foals to be born that season in mid November, and raised at Brighthill Farm. Bred by Lorna Moore, Zabeel Bloodstock, Matamata.  Lorna also bred and raised his dam Bazelle who was a dual Group 1 winner - ARC Auckland Cup G.1 and ARC Zabeel Classic Group 1 and winner of 7 races.

He went through the NZB Karaka Sales, and even though there were many offers for him, his owner rightly so, stuck to her guns and felt that he was worth every bit of the $400,000 reserve price - however surprisingly he came home.  Hence he was named SHOW THE WORLD, and we wish his connections all the very best luck in the world, he's certainly come along way so far with a Listed and Group 2 win from 3 starts todate!!

AJC Derby Prospect for High Chaparral
(2nd January 2014)

Murray Baker is no stranger to success with the progeny of High Chaparral having put the polish on his champion son It’s a Dundeel and the trainer looks to have another star on the rise in Show the World (3g High Chaparral x Bazelle, by Zabeel), who won the Group II Sound Championship Stakes at Ellerslie on New Year’s Day.

Breaking his maiden at Te Aroha at his second start on December 2, Show the World looked a promising type and confirmed that potential when finishing second at his next run in the Listed Guineas Prelude at Ellerslie on December 15.

Now with the benefit of race experience and fitness on his side, Show the World stepped up again for this tougher assignment, scoring a neck win in the 2100 metre staying test.

“I think he might just need a break now as he may have come to the end of it for this preparation,” Baker said.

“We thought the blinkers would do the trick and keep him focused, but he still has that tendency to switch off at the wrong time.

“He is a very good horse in the making, however I think he will benefit from a fortnight in the paddock now.

“He might just be an AJC Derby horse. We do believe him to be a very smart animal and we’ve liked him from day one.”

Passed in when offered at the NZB Premier Yearling Sale, Show the World is the best of two winners from dual Group I winning Zabeel mare Bazelle, who comes from the family of Golden Slipper winner Toy Show.

He is the 51st stakes-winner for High Chaparral ad is bred on the exact same cross as five-time Group I winner It’s a Dundeel, who is also from a daughter of Zabeel.
