Dalghar Yearlings Impress at Karaka & Perth Sales
22 Feb 2015
Lot 422 - Dalghar colt from Gr.1 winner Honour Babe sells to Australian client for $130,000.

The positive impression that the Dalghar progeny left prior to the sales converted in to strong sales on both sides of the Tasman in the last few weeks.

The good looking and impeccably bred son of Anabaa was represented by his first Southern Hemisphere crop and with his yearlings looking very  much in his mould,  they were very quickly sought after by the buyers.  At the Karaka Premier Sale his yearlings made up to $130,000 and averaged $103,000 and the buyers included Duncan Ramage Bloodstock and Ross Titzel, a couple of the best judges in the business.

This trend was to continue through Karaka Select and Festival sales with yearlings heading to the yards of some  top trainers inc. Trevor and Stephen McKee, Frank Ritchie, Donna Logan, Nigel Blackiston Melbourne, David Green and Alan Sharrock.

"We were very pleased to the response to the Dalghar stock and that the buyers showed such confidence in his yearlings, they were strong impressive individuals and good walking yearlings left a big impression" said Nick King "We were particularly pleased that so many international buyers purchased them, with Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong all buying some from this first SH crop we look forward to seeing them racing around the world in the near future."

The success at Karaka then flowed on to Australia to the Magic Million Sale at Perth last week where Dalghar was represented by six yearlings.  Again the types of horses they were, left a favourable impression.  They defied what proved to a tough trading environment with the top Dalghar lot making A$50,000 and a very strong Dalghar yearling average overall of A$40,000.
Again his yearlings were bought by some of Perth's best trainers as well as Lot 2, the classy grey Extra Celestrial colt going to Anthony Cummings in Sydney.

With Dalghar's first crop in Europe just turning two and now his first Southern Hemisphere crop in the hands of trainers here, exciting times lie ahead for Dalghar!
