Dolniya (Azamour) 3YO filly lines up the Arc
05 Oct 2014
The Alain de Royer-Dupre trained three-year-old filly Dolniya  by Azamour, lines up in one of the worlds richest races the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, Gr.1 over 2400m on Sunday 5th October.

Dolniya was bred, and will race in the colours of her owner His Highness the Aga Khan.  She is closely related to our resident sire DALGHAR.  By Azamour, she is from Daltama who is a half sister to Dalghar, Daylami, Dalakhani.

Please click here for Dalghar's updated pedigree.

Dolniya is lightly raced, she didn't run at two, and with just the five race day starts she has Won three including a third in the Group 1 at Longchamp on the 14th September over the 2400, and also previously winning over the same distance in the Group 2 Saint-Cloud Prix de Malleret in June.

She is ridden by Christophe Soumillon who has ridden her in each of her starts to date.

With an exclusive crop of Azamour's currently foaling down here in New Zealand and standing Dalghar we will certainly be 'riding the race' in the early hours of New Zealand our time, with her and wish all the very best to her connections!

Dalghar has his first crop of Southern Hemisphere yearlings heading to the Karaka Sales in January 2015.  With stock represented in the Premier, Select and Festival sections of the Karaka Sales we are really looking forward to them getting in to a selection of trainers in New Zealand and Australia.
