Azamour - Franny colt foal born at Brighthill Farm, bred by Neven Botica
A recent arrival at Brighthill Farm added to the Waikato Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association stallion parade last Saturday, not only did resident sires Perfectly Ready and Dalghar parade but also Azamour’s first Southern Hemisphere foal!
From Franny (by Selkirk) who is a full sister to 2013 Champion Turf horse in Canada and Group 1 winner Forte Dei Marmi. This striking colt has caught the eye of those who have seen him, including Pat Downes, Manager of The Aga Khan Studs who commented on seeing several photos, how typical of the European Azamour foals he was. Anticipation is rising to see the rest of this exclusive crop arrive this Spring.
Azamour’s strong European form continues with Dolniya winning a Group 2 in France and smart two-year-old Mind of Madness running second in the Norfolk Stakes Group 3 at Royal Ascot followed by a Listed win on Saturday. Infact Azamour had two stakes winners last weekend.
Dalghar parading on Saturday
By no means being overshadowed tomorrow is Dalghar, the impressive son of Anabaa and half brother to Dalakhani and Daylami, has made an impressive start to his stud career with his weanlings at the annual weanling sale in May leaving a big impression and selling up to $60,000. This has created a lot of interest in him for this up and coming season.
Perfectly Ready putting on a good show, as always!
Proven sire Perfectly Ready has just completed his best season to date ending up with a total of 41 individual winners for the season placing him 5th on the General Sires list by Winners – his main flag bearers were Group and Stakes winning three-year-olds, Moozoon Gr.3 and Lord Turbo L.
