18th Stakes winner for Azamour - Chief Barker 2YO wins again
08 Sep 2013The Richard Hannon-trained Chief Barker makes it three from three in the Haydock Ascent S. Listed race.

Pictured above he is winning his second outing  in the Nursery Handicap under Richard Hughes.

Chief Barker took his unbeaten run to three when taking the Listed Ascendant Stakes. The two-year-old son of Azamour initially looked flat footed a furlong out but got back into gear, finishing strongly to get up close home and win by a neck from Chriselliam (Iffraaj), with Lily Rules (Aussie Rules), a length and a
half back in third.

Bred by Eimear Mulhern and a Goffs and Tattersalls graduate, he is out of a winning full-sister to the Listed
Finale Stakes winner Millstreet, while their dam Mill Path (Mill Reef) is a half-sister to the Gr.1 Irish Oaks winner
Give Thanks (Relko), from the family of the Gr.1 Garden City Breeders’ Cup Handicap winner Campsie Fells, the
Gr.1 1,000 Guineas winner Harayir and the Gr.1 Premio Roma winner and sire Imperial Dancer.
