17th Stakes winner for Azamour 1st & 2nd
26 Jul 2013

Listed 1-2 for Azamour,

The feature race on the Chantilly card, the Listed Prix de Bagatelle, provided a perfect opportunity for the well-regarded Siyenica to return to winning ways, and her sire Azamour with a black-type one-two.

Siyenica is a half-sister to Gr 1 winners Siyouni (Pivotal) and Siyouma (Medicean) and she had made an impact on her racecourse debut at Longchamp back in April before things did not go her way in the Gr 1 Prix Saint-Alary and Coronation Stakes. The filly proved her class with this performance at Chantilly, running out a two and half-length winner of the mile contest. Siyenica will now have plenty of opportunities to step up in class and her entries include the Gr 3 Prix de Lieurey at Deauville and the Gr 1 Sun Chariot Stakes won by her half-sister last season.

Siyenica was chased home by Nuit D’Amour, a lightly raced daughter of Azamour who finished five lengths ahead of her remaining rivals in the Prix de Bagatelle. This progressive filly had won her two previous outings at two and looks certain to offer her sire another Stakes victory in the future.

Siyenica is a half sister to popular young stallion Siyouni, whose first yearlings will be presented at Arqana August Sale.

Azamour is due to be released from quarantine and arrive at Brighthill Farm tomorrow -
