Dalwari updates Dalghar's pedigree

DALWARI LOOKS READY FOR A STEP UP IN GRADE

His Highness the Aga Khan looks to have another smart three-year old in the More Than Ready colt Dalwari, who ran out the comfortable winner of yesterday’s Gr.3 Prix de Guiche at Chantilly. The Jean-Claude Rouget-trained colt beat Mshawish (Medaglia D’Oro) by a length and a quarter, with the last month’s Gr.3 Prix La Force winner Triple Threat (Monsun) back in third.

Dalwari had won a debutants race on this couse in November (yesterday’s runner-up was fifth) and had finished third on his seasonal debut at Longchamp, one place ahead of yesterday’s Marseille winner Au Revoir (Singspiel), though the winner of that race, Superplex (Multiplex), was firmly put in his place by Ocovango (Monsun) next time out in the Gr.2 Prix Greffulhe.

The winner is the third foal out of the Kalanisi mare Dalmiya, an unraced half-sister to the Champion racehorses and sires Daylami (Doyoun) and Dalakhani (Darshaan), as well as to the Gr.3-winning sprinter Dalghar (Anabaa) and the twice Gr.1-placed Daymarti (Caerleon). Dalmiya has a yearling colt by Langfuhr and produced a colt by Include on 9th March.

Prominent throughout, Dalwari quickened to the fore entering the final 300 metres, last month’s Gr.3 Prix La Force victor Triple Threat losing his chance when breaking very slowly from the stalls. The bay thus became the 50th Graded/Group winner by Vinery’s Gr.1 King's Bishop Stakes hero More Than Ready, 13 of whom have triumphed at the highest level.

Point of Interest,  we have bred a couple of Perfectly Ready (by More Than Ready) mares to Dalghar, and await their foals this Spring.
