Reliable Man’s emphatic Group 1 victory in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick on Saturday was a major boost for Brighthill’s resident sire Dalghar.

Reliable Man is by Dalghar’s half brother and Champion racehorse Dalakhani and continued a dominant run of European gallopers in the major Australian staying races this year.

The success of Reliable Man is very timely for the well thought out and first time placement by The Aga Khan Studs of Dalakhani and of course, Azamour to Australasia for shuttle duties this season.

Dalghar and Dalakhani’s other half brother Daylami has also been in the limelight in Australia this year, being the broodmare sire of Champion 2 year old, and multiple Group 1 winning 3 year old Pierro.

Dalghar, the impressive looking son of Anabaa made a fantastic start to his stud career here at Brighthill Farm last season and was supported by some of the best thoroughbred breeders in the business.

Dalghar bred a quality book of just under 80 mares and included:

Honor Babe – Winner of Sydney Cup Gr.1

Machavelli Miss – Winner of Thorndon Mile Gr.1

Upstage – Dam of Tavistock dual Gr.1 winner & stallion

Cold Type – Dam of Eskimo Queen dual Gr.1 winner

Blue Heaven – Dam of Pasta Post Gr.1 winner & Dom Domingo Gr.3 winner
