Patapan represented by two contenders in the Gr.2 Wakefield Stakes
18 Jan 2013
Excitement at Brighthill Farm runs high since Patapan will be represented by two runners in the Group 2 Wakefield Stakes for two-year-olds at Trentham tomorrow.
Picture above is Dublin, as a yearling, bred and sold by Brighthill Farm to asute trainer Graham Richardson, Matatama at the 2012 Karaka Yearling Sales. She is from the Volksraad mare Dubbe, and closely related to Herbaceous, dam of stakes winner Banchiere, (Faltaat) 6 wins, and Gr.2 placed Our Court (Pompeii Court - 10 wins).
Ritchie is trying to qualify her for the Karaka Millions race at the end of the month. She heads in to the race with two race day starts, and placings of 3rd and an unlucky 4 in her last race day outing being shuffled back from a wayward horse!
Also Patapan is represented in the race by Peter Telfer's bred colt, Dizzup, (Centinize by Centaine) sold to Keven Myers at the 2012 Karaka Sales also. He heads in as a first raceday start... however I don't think his trainer would have him in the race, if he couldn't be competative!!
The total prize money for the Group 2 1200m is $85,000 if either of them won or got placed, they would easily sail in to the Karaka Millions line up!
