Brighthill Karaka Graduate Al Strada wins on debut by over 5 lengths!
10 Jan 2013

Congratulations to Matamata trainers, Jason and Kelly Price who purchased the Perfectly Ready gelding from us at the Karaka Sales last January, and trained him up to win very convincingly over the 1150m 2YO maiden race at the Waikato Raceday meeting in a speedy 1.07.33.  The gelding gave the much fancied Iffley Road  (Iffraaj filly) a wining margin of over 5 1/2 lengths.

Jason and Kelly are no strangers to getting a horse primed ready for New Zealand's richest 2YO race The Karaka Millions. They purchased the Perfectly Ready filly 'Queen Boudicca' (ex Qwikchik) in 2010 and she went off to run a strong 6th out of 14.  She then went on to come 3rd to Anabandana and Beejay Belle in the Group 2 Matamata Breeders Stakes.

Hopefully Al Strada will have won enough stakes to make the top 14 2YOs for the 2013 Karaka Millions race at the end of the month.

Al Strada is from the 2YO stakes winning mare Penny Arcade - her dam is Group winning Echostatic.  Family of alot of early speed.  She was a good mating with Perfectly Ready, and  we have retained the yearling full brother, (bay version) to set for this year's 2YO Ready to Run sale.  We also have the half sister by Lucky Unicorn who will go to the breeding paddock this coming season.

Penny Arcade is in foal to our new sire Dalghar.
